J.E. Ober Elementary School values teaching character in their building. Each month they have a different character focus (based on the Character Counts Pillars - Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. They have added four - Courage, Perseverance, Dreamer, and Loyalty) and they meet in their We Care Wednesday groups. The We Care Wednesday groups consist of two classrooms (an older classrrom and a younger classroom) and multiple staff members. The group works together and does activities that focus on the pillar of character for the month. An example of an acitivity they have done is Valentines for Veterans!
Did you know that JE Ober has an Art Gallery? The Art Gallery was established during the 2022-2023 school year. They know that Artists have work to be displayed, and they wanted to honor their young artists' work by having a place for it to be displayed. A huge thank you to Mrs. Lindsay Brown and Ms. Holly Wright for putting Mrs. Surfus' vision into reality!

Garrett High School is Public School Proud!
GHS currently has 562 students, 42 teachers, 8 Instructional Assistants, and 12 Office/Admin. They work on fulfilling their mission to help students graduate as responsible and productive citizens. Not just graduating carpenters, welders, equipment operators, musicians, and/or college bound students. They work towards helping students graduate as caring people that know how to think, communicate, and listen among other character traits.
The class of 2024 will be the 140th graduating class from GHS! In that time Garrett High School students moved into a new building in 1922 with eight classrooms. That building remained there until 2011 along with several additions throughout the decades. Then, students moved into the current building in August 2012.
