Garrett High School

Educators Rising is a brand new organization to Garrett High School for students that are considering a career in the field of education. This group is essential for our future because of the major teacher shortage we are facing all over the country. Five of our Educators Rising members competed in education related competitions at the state conference in February, and FOUR of them qualified to move on to the national conference to represent the state of Indiana! The trip is in Washington, D.C., and we need to raise funds to get them there! Among many other fundraisers, we have scheduled multiple Dine to Donate events around Garrett and Auburn. The first of these events is on Tuesday, April 9 at Culver's in Auburn, and the second will be on Monday, April 15 at Lalo's in Garrett. We have also scheduled with Chipotle in Auburn on Wednesday, May 1. PLEASE help support us if you are able and come out to see us. Did you know that April is Child Abuse Awareness Month? This is an initiative led by Prevent Child Abuse America and it's national network of state chapters. This year, National Assistant Principals Week is celebrated from April 1 - 5! This week honors the enormous contributions of our Assistant Principals to student achievement and overall success. Last night the GHS Academic Teams did very well at the Bishop Dwenger meet! 🤩 The Social Studies team placed 4th, the Fine Arts team placed 3rd, and the English team placed 1st! They are now preparing for the Area Meet at Bishop Luers on April 16th! Good luck! #CarrytheG

Good luck to Garrett Encore Show Choir as they compete at ISSMA State Finals tomorrow! They are heading to Franklin Central High School, Indianapolis where they will perform at 6:30PM. Did you know that Garrett was one of five schools in Indiana that qualified for State Finals in both Show Choir and Marching Band this year?! Roll Big Train! 🚂 #CarrytheG

Junior, Mahlan Dircksen competed in Trine's Innovation Challenge amongst other area high schoolers, Wednesday February 7th. He pitched his Drone Photography & Videography business idea and had a strong presentation in a competitive showcase. We are very proud of Mahlan for representing Garrett High School!
