The annual Fort Wayne Newspapers Reader's Choice Contest for 2026 recently concluded with high acknowledgment for Garrett High School in two categories.
The contest began with a nomination period in April, with two rounds of voting to declare the winners and finalists in a wide variety of categories across Northeast Indiana.
In the Education group, Bill Thomas was named as one of two finalists behind the winner in the category of Best High School Teacher.
In the category of Best High School Marching Band, Garrett High School's Railroader Regiment was also one of two finalists behind the winner in the category.
Congrats to Mr. Thomas and our own marching band for being recognized and voted on by readers in Northeast Indiana to be top contenders in each of their categories.
