Garrett-Keyser-Butler CSD will see a pair of administrative shifts for the 2026-2027 school year when it begins this fall.

Kelly Flotow will transition into the role of Assistant Principal at Garrett High School. She will also continue overseeing the Career Development Program.

"Kelly’s strong relationships with students, staff, and families, along with her experience across GKB, make her a great fit for this role. We’re confident she’ll make a positive impact right away," said GKB Superintendent Daniel Durrwachter.

Kristi Surfus will shifting to support the high school administrative team as part of her role of Director of Student Services for the district. Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, as part of her new district wide role, she will serve as the Administrator of Alternative School and Work-Based Learning for Garrett High School.

"Kristi brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to supporting students, which will further strengthen the opportunities and support systems available at the high school," Durrwachter said.

"I am excited about what these changes mean for our students and our school community. Together with our returning high school administration and the addition of Kyle Wood as our new GHS Principal, this team will help us continue to grow and support students as they prepare for success beyond Garrett-Keyser-Butler," Durrwachter added.
