The Garrett Railroader Regiment will make its second ever appearance in the ISSMA Marching Band State Finals this Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Garrett earned its second trip in the last three years after placing in the Top 10 of Class C bands at the ISSMA Semi-State hosted by Decatur Central on November 1.
The band, under the direction of Josh Hettinger, made its first appearance at State Finals in 2023 placing sixth out of 10 bands in Class C. This year, the Railroader Regiment is performing a show titled, “Open Your Imagination” with musical selections from the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves by Michael Kamen.
Drum Major Abby Thomas and the Railroader Regiment will host a Community Performance and Media Night on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m. on GHS’s football field. All are welcome to join us in a send off for the students headed to State Finals. Members of the media are welcome to interview Hettinger, Thomas, and other members of the band before or after the performance.
